Following the lead of Rosie O'Donnell and ABC, NBC has decided to join in the bashing of Christians by airing a Madonna special in November. A specific date has not been released.

In the show, Madonna, wearing a fake crown of thorns, descends on a suspended mirrored, disco ball-type cross. When some Christian leaders complained about the mockery, NBC ignored their concerns.

Making mockery of the crucifixion of Christ has been a trademark of Madonna for many years. In 1989 she had a video for the hit song "Like A Prayer." The video featured burning crosses, statues crying blood and Madonna--representing Jesus--freeing a saint from his sexual repression by seducing him. This is the same Madonna who once said, "Crucifixes are sexy because there's a naked man on them."

Kevin Reilly, an executive at NBC, said Madonna considered the scene mocking the crucifixion of Christ the highlight of her show. "We (NBC) viewed it and didn't see it as being inappropriate." Madonna considers mocking the crucifixion of Jesus the highlight of her show and NBC agrees.

ABC's Rosie O'Donnell told a nationwide audience this week that "radical Christians" are the same as radical Muslims who piloted hijacked jetliners into New York's Twin Towers, who chop off the heads of individuals and who bomb innocent children in suicide attacks. O'Donnell made her comments as host of ABC's "The View." "Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America where we have separation of church and state," O'Donnell said. She had been saying that America was attacked "not by a nation." She continued: "And as a result of the attack and the killing of 3,000 innocent people, we invaded two countries and killed innocent people." Even her liberal co-hosts were shocked by her comments. Co-host Joy Behar protested that Christians are not trying to impose mass murder on America. "This group (radical Muslims) is threatening to kill us." Replied O'Donnell: "No, but we are bombing innocent people in other countries. True or false?" O'Donnell was saying there is no difference between the radical Muslims who kill in the name of Allah and Bible-believing Christians who follow the teachings of Jesus. Neither O'Donnell nor ABC apologized for the comments. Had she made similar comments about minorities or homosexuals, there would have been an apology, and she would have probably been fired. The message from ABC is that bashing Christians is acceptable, even comparing them with murderers who kill in the name of Allah.

Stingray kills 'Crocodile Hunter' Irwin By BRIAN CASSEY,

CAIRNS, Australia - Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.

Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called "Ocean's Deadliest" when he swam too close to one of the animals, which have a poisonous barb on their tails, his friend and colleague John Stainton said.

"He came on top of the stingray and the stingray's barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart," said Stainton, who was on board Irwin's boat at the time.

Crew members aboard the boat, Croc One, called emergency services in the nearest city, Cairns, and administered CPR as they rushed the boat to nearby Low Isle to meet a rescue helicopter. Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead when they arrived a short time later, Stainton said.

Irwin was famous for his enthusiasm for wildlife and his catchword "Crikey!" in his television program "Crocodile Hunter." First broadcast in Australia in 1992, the program was picked up by the Discovery network, catapulting Irwin to international celebrity.

He rode his image into a feature film, 2002's "The Crocodile Hunters: Collision Course" and developed the wildlife park that his parents opened, Australia Zoo, into a major tourist attraction.

"The world has lost a great wildlife icon, a passionate conservationist and one of the proudest dads on the planet," Stainton told reporters in Cairns. "He died doing what he loved best and left this world in a happy and peaceful state of mind. He would have said, 'Crocs Rule!'"

Prime Minister John Howard, who hand-picked Irwin to attend a gala barbecue to honor President Bush when he visited in 2003, said he was "shocked and distressed at Steve Irwin's sudden, untimely and freakish death."

"It's a huge loss to Australia," Howard told reporters. "He was a wonderful character. He was a passionate environmentalist. He brought joy and entertainment and excitement to millions of people."

Irwin, who made a trademark of hovering dangerously close to untethered crocodiles and leaping on their backs, spoke in rapid-fire bursts with a thick Australian accent and was almost never seen without his uniform of khaki shorts and shirt and heavy boots.

Wild animal expert Jack Hanna, who frequently appears on TV with his subjects, offered praise for Irwin.

"Steve was one of these guys, we thought of him as invincible," Hanna, director emeritus of the Columbus (Ohio) Zoo and Aquarium, told ABC's "Good Morning America" Monday.

"The guy was incredible. His knowledge was incredible," Hanna said. "Some people that are doing this stuff are actors and that type of thing, but Steve was truly a zoologist, so to speak, a person who knew what he was doing. Yes, he did things a lot of people wouldn't do. I think he knew what he was doing."

Irwin's ebullience was infectious and Australian officials sought him out for photo opportunities and to promote Australia internationally.

His public image was dented, however, in 2004 when he caused an uproar by holding his infant son in one arm while feeding large crocodiles inside a zoo pen. Irwin claimed at the time there was no danger to the child, and authorities declined to charge Irwin with violating safety regulations.

Later that year, he was accused of getting too close to penguins, a seal and humpback whales in Antarctica while making a documentary. Irwin denied any wrongdoing, and an Australian Environment Department investigation recommended no action be taken against him.

Stingrays have a serrated, toxin-loaded barb, or spine, on the top of their tail. The barb, which can be up to 10 inches long, flexes if a ray is frightened. Stings usually occur to people when they step on or swim too close to a ray and can be excruciatingly painful but are rarely fatal, said University of Queensland marine neuroscientist Shaun Collin.

Collin said he suspected Irwin died because the barb pierced under his ribcage and directly into his heart.

"It was extraordinarily bad luck. It's not easy to get spined by a stingray and to be killed by one is very rare," Collin said.

News of Irwin's death spread quickly, and tributes flowed from all quarters of society.

At Australia Zoo at Beerwah, south Queensland, floral tributes were dropped at the entrance, where a huge fake crocodile gapes. Drivers honked their horns as they passed.

"Steve, from all God's creatures, thank you. Rest in peace," was written on a card with a bouquet of native flowers.

"We're all very shocked. I don't know what the zoo will do without him. He's done so much for us, the environment and it's a big loss," said Paula Kelly, a local resident and volunteer at the zoo, after dropping off a wreath at the gate.

Stainton said Irwin's American-born wife Terri, from Eugene, Ore., had been informed of his death, and had told their daughter Bindi Sue, 8, and son Bob, who will turn 3 in December.

The couple met when she went on vacation in Australia in 1991 and visited Irwin's Australia Zoo; they were married six months later. Sometimes referred to as the "Crocodile Huntress," she costarred on her husband's television show and in his 2002 movie.

Hi guys!

I cannot tell you how disappointed I was when I heard that Starting Over has
been cancelled.

Maybe someone will pick it up for syndication??

It has had such a profound effect on me and some of my friends that I got
hooked on it. I'm into reading Iyanla's books right now and have a couple of
Rhonda's to get to next.

At the very least, we can support these wonderful women that way.

I am just so disappointed and really feel a sense of let down emotions. I am grieving to know that the show is canceled. It has not been not a great surprise because of the way the show's season three ended (considering the reunion of all three seasons of SO houseguest at the 5k race, including the speeches from H G and couches).
I was one who gained so much insight from watching SO. This show had become my private therapy sessions the less expensive way. That I am so thankful and blessed that such a show was allowed on the air. Our time watching and reviewing SO will not be time we spent in vain.
I did manage to tape the original shows, the latter part of season two, and all the SO season three reruns that were very shortened especially towards the end.
I did not see season one. I started watching around Nov 2004 of season two and season three.
For my archives, I would like to get tapes of seasons (one, two, and the first three-fourths of season three. I hope that NBC or some network will rerun, all the seasons again in their entirety.

Oh on the graduations. I did not see Lisa #2's graduation. Was her graduation reruned? I taped everyday on VHS. I saw everyone's graduation except Lisa #2.

CBS To Air Profanity-Laden Program
Network testing waters to see how far they can go
Not content with all the profanity already on TV, CBS has decided to air the profanity-laden unedited version of "9/11" on Sept. 10. The decision by CBS is a slap in the face to the FCC and Congress, which recently raised indecency fines to $325,000 per incident. "9/11," which will be shown in prime-time, contains a tremendous amount of hardcore profanity. CBS has stated they have not, and will not, make any cuts in the amount and degree of profanity. In addition, the network is suing the FCC over the indecency law, saying they should be able to show whatever they desire whenever they desire. CBS wants no limits. This is a test case for CBS to see how far they can go. If there is no out-pouring of complaints from the public, they will go further the next time. The profanity is so bad that CBS has warned their affiliates that they could be subject to huge fines. The FCC says it will fine not only the networks, but also affiliates if the law is violated. Under the new Broadcast Decency Act the $325,000 per incident could run into millions of dollars not only for the network but also for local affiliates. CBS could very easily bleep out the profanity, but they refuse. The network wants no restraints on their programming. If they are allowed to get away with this, they will simply air even more profanity in the future.

Take Action
It is time to tell CBS and the other networks that enough is enough! Send an email, asking the FCC to enforce the law. Your email will go not only to the FCC, but also to CBS. Contact your local CBS affiliate and ask them not to air "9/11." Click Here to find their contact information or use your local phone directory. Please forward this to your friends and family. Share this information with members of your Sunday School class and church, and urge them to get involved. If no changes are made and your CBS affiliate carries the program, AFA will provide you with information for filing a formal complaint with the FCC.

I am a bit frustrated that every time I have tried to log in to the LA Show board recently, the board has been locked in maintenance mode. How long will it be locked, and how often does this happen? Is there a schedule, so I'll know when it to log into the board?

Thanks for writing. Unfortunately I have been keeping the board locked b/c of inactivity. People say they want the board up, but nobody ever posts anything anymore. I do apologize but for now you can send any comments you have to comments@thelashow.com. I sent out an email to 600 + people and not ONE PERSON replied saying they would like the board to be unlocked,,,except for you right now! ;-)

Why did the show get cancelled? I thought it was doing well? It had come back for three seasons. I know it helped me deal with a couple of things so I know it helped thousands of other women too so I don't understand why it will no longer be on the air. I can deal with it but I just want to know why. Thanks for having this outlet so that we could express ourselves.

It seems to me that cancelling a show that has done so much good, and positive things for its viewers, is just WRONG! I guess we, the consumer, don't matter. Or do we? I am not sure who else we can contact, but if the sponsors don't get the cash from us, maybe they will listen in the future? I am sad to see SO end!

I have been trying to log in to the message boards forever and can't , why is that??? I am very frustrated...it was my place to go and it isn't there anymore and I just don't know whether I missed something along the way....is there a reason for this?

I knew there was a possibility of the show getting cancelled but I thought we, the fans, would have at least been told...I have searched my emails I can't find anything.

Could you please take the time to at least tell us what is going on? I can't even get to this other "thing" that you told us about cus that would never me either, just an explaination woudl be good, why can't we log in? I wrote alot of information there and I thought it would always be there regardless of whether the show was there or not? What happened?

I I am very very disappointed in hearing that Starting Over will not be back on tv for another season.This is heartbreaking cause the show helped me deal with some problems in my own life.I also got to correspond with a lot of the ladies on the programs over the seasons.

For them to choose Jerry Springer over Starting Over they need their own psychiatrists!!!!!!!!They will regret their decision when they loose a lot of viewers from their station....
